Pau Hana – Time after work. A time for relaxation, enjoyment and socializing with friends and family!

Here We Go!

January 2015 picked out our Fifth wheel. We decided on a 33′ Glacier Peak  fifth wheel, made by Outdoor RV .  It is manufactured in La Grande, Oregon.  Brought it home on the Ferry (we have to remember to watch the tides when using the ferry).

First trip with G.P. We headed to Bend, OR to celebrate Cristen’s Birthday!   We successfully completed the Bend “Ale Trail”!  We had a great time, it was in the high 60’s and sunny (in January).  Bend is a beautiful city, trendy yet quaint.  We ate at a restaurant called “Chow“, it was the best breakfast we all ever had!

February 2015

Heartbreaking Superbowl loss 😦  Rainy and cold in Seattle, decided to head east to find some sunshine.

We stopped in Prosser, WA and stayed at Wine Country RV Park.  Nice place to stay, close to everything, clean and friendly.

Headed southwest from Prosser to the Great Columbia River.  On Hwy 97 we saw a lot of wild horses.  We camped at Maryhill State Park on the Columbia River.  There were only 3 other campers, we were able to get a site right on the river.

Drove west on I-84 to Portland, OR.  A beautiful and very scenic drive along the Columbia River.  Lots of places to stop and enjoy the scenery.

Kimi and  the boys flew in and met us in Portland.  One of the highlights for us in Portland was the Oregon Zoo.  Awesome zoo!

We ate a lot of good food, Blue Star Donuts, Salt and Straw Ice Cream, Fireside, Fat Heads….  Great shopping (no tax).  We stayed on Sauvie Island (there isn’t a lot to do on the island in February).

From Portland we headed west on Hwy 30 to Astoria and the Oregon Coast (I think we will try another route next time).  Ryan joined us at the KOA in Astoria/Warrenton, it was an excellent place to stay, especially for the kids.

The Fort Stevens State Park is nearby, great place for exploring, hiking, beach walking and biking.  The sunset at the Iredale Shipwreck is stunning!
