We decided to make a stop at Lake Almanor where Austin worked one summer with some of his college buddies. He had a lot of great stories about this place so we thought it would be a nice destination!
On our drive from Lake Tahoe to Lake Almanor we end up smack in the middle of the USA Cycling Amateur Road National Championships! It’s a good thing we were not in a rush to get anywhere.
Lake Almanor was beautiful, we camped at the Rocky Point Campground right on the lake.
We enjoyed beautiful sunrises and sunsets.
Made breakfast by the lake 🙂
It was nice to relax and enjoy the cool breeze blowing off of the water.
There was a bird’s nest right by our campsite. I’m not sure why mama bird decided to make a nest on the ground???
Some photo memories of Lake Almanor……….
Lake Almanor is a water lovers paradise, boating, fishing, jet skiing…….! With temperatures in the 90’s Hugh couldn’t resist! I even took an evening dip!
We even got a private lesson in reversing GP into a very narrow campsite. Luckily one of our neighbors at the campground was an expert so he gave us some really good tips.
