South Llano River State Park

Over the river and thru the woods!

We decided to take a back road to South Llano River State Park, we drove by farms, wineries, rivers and then we came to……

We were lucky that the water level at this crossing was low or we would have had to reverse back up that hill. 😮

South Llano River State Park was a nice, spacious, peaceful and well maintained campground.

Campsite #41

There are several easy hikes in the park, on one hike we came across an armadillo!

There are 4 bird blinds spread out around the park, bird watchers have recorded 250 species of birds in the park.

The park is home to one of the largest turkey roosts in central Texas.  We saw a flock of 50+ wild turkeys, it was awesome 😍.
